Search Engine Optimisation
Having a team of experienced (borderline geeks) on your side is invaluable. - remember even if a company has a large budget or is a house hold name does not necessarily mean it will be listed first. A well-planned and executed strategy is the only way to reach the top of the rankings.
So what make our SEO campaigns so effective?
Phases One – Digital Marketing Review:
Starting a campaign with Yomp is a great opportunity to review and re-define what you are spending each month on internet advertising and what results you are getting from it. We start every campaign with a 2 week review of your current success rates. This review will cover the following:
- Categorising prospects & profiling
- Website conversion rate
- Website bounce rate
- Current link structure
- Website architecture & usability
- Competition
- Keyword research
- Onsite optimisation
- Social media
- E-mail Marketing
- Land-in Pages
- Your Pay-Per-Click success rate
After this review is finished we will produce a report that will form the basis for the campaign going forward. Within that report will be objectives under the following titles:
Phase Two - Campaign Objectives:
- 1. Reduce bounce rate by about x%
- 2. Increase the number of new visitors by about x%
- 3. Increase conversation rate by about x%
The above three titles will be set with time scales and progress meetings. This then allows you to feel comfortable that we are focused with clear business goals. Of-course these goals can be accompanied by any other goal you require focus upon. You will receive monthly reports upon progress and quarterly meetings to review goals and set new ones.
Phase Three – The Campaign
To help you see how we will achieve the above three objectives, I have listed our SEO elements which are worked upon every month to achieve the rate of growth required.
On-site Optimisation
Once we have the targeted keywords and strategy set correctly, conducting on-site optimisation it is just a matter of programming each page of your site to reflect those goals, keywords and links.
On-site optimisation includes:
- Title, Image & Alt tag optimisation
- Robots.txt optimisation
- Work upon HTML source code
- Editing current page content to enhance SEO
- Hyperlink optimisation
- Creation of themed link pages
- Submission to local and international search engines directories
- Google sitemap creation and submission
- Yahoo/Bing sitemap creation and submission
With all of the above reviewed and changes made, the website will have the core SEO elements completed.
Website Content
Search engines love content and ranks large sites very highly. They also like content that is very popular and has many different internal pages and external websites link to it.
The problem is - how do you get lots of content upon your website, which also is consistently popular and well linked?
The best format is through keyword rich articles, blog posts and news stories. Every industry can give a unique spin on what is going on, what services are out there, or, 10 tips for doing something better.
External Optimisation:
Off-site promotion has a large impact on your SEO efforts. Quantity and quality are the keys here. All SEO Professionals agree that one of the (if not the) biggest single factor to effective SEO is good quality links (and lots of them) to your site.
Here are a few areas of website promotion we will focus upon:
- Directories (Local & Industry focused)
- Articles (Become recognised in your market, by potential clients and Google)
- Press Releases (Tell the press about the industry and try to obtain media coverage)
- Give Testimonials (Give testimonials and request a link back in return)
- Social Bookmarking website (linking back to specific pages not just your home page)
- Social Media (we will get Twitter, facebook, U-tube, linked-in, etc… working effectively)
Conclusion
The above process will be implemented on a monthly basis and will be reported back to you through monthly reports and quarterly meetings. Our success is always easy to see as we generally try to stick to 3 clear success factors:
- 1. Reduce bounce rate by about x%,
- 2. Increase the number of new visitors by about x%,
- 3. Increase conversation rate by about x%.
You will see a dramatic increase in links within the first few months as we will have a blitz of the directories which are good for links, but not good for article submission. We therefore get these bases covered first as it is a one off job. Following that our time is spent really pushing your weekly, or monthly articles out to your target audience, and gaining more and more links, of better and better quality.
To start the project a 6 month contract is a suitable length to prove our effectiveness, we do write a 3 month break clause to allow either party to discontinue if the arrangement is not working.
